The Major Upgrade: What's New on July 26, 2026?
In a major win for cardholders, HSBC India is upgrading the HSBC Live+ Credit Card to the premium Visa Infinite platform starting July 26, 2026. This revaluation turns it into one of the most rewarding utility and lifestyle cards in the market.
The standout feature of this update is the expansion of the accelerated 10% cashback categories. Previously restricted to dining, food delivery, and groceries, the 10% tier will now cover eligible utility bill payments and general shopping spends.
To complement these new categories, HSBC is also raising the monthly cap on the 10% cashback program from ₹1,000 to ₹1,200. This means you can now earn maximum rewards on up to ₹12,000 of monthly spends in these categories.
Excluded Shopping Platforms and the 1.5% Base Rate
While the expansion to shopping is a huge benefit, there is a crucial catch: major online marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra are excluded from the 10% accelerated rate.
Transactions on these platforms, along with other general spends, will continue to earn the card's baseline reward rate of 1.5% cashback.
Despite these exclusions, the addition of utilities and other retail shopping at a 10% rate makes the card exceptionally competitive compared to other cashback heavyweights.
New Travel Perks & Lounge Access Revisions
As part of the Visa Infinite transition, HSBC is introducing new travel benefits and adjusting the lounge access rules.
Starting September 1, 2026, the card will include one complimentary international airport lounge visit per year.
Domestic lounge access is revised to 2 visits per year (capped at 1 visit per 6-month period), effective July 26, 2026. This is a spend-free access tier, unlike many competitors which require a quarterly spend.
Fee Structure and Eligibility
The HSBC Live+ Credit Card retains its standard fee structure. The joining fee is ₹999 plus taxes, and the annual fee of ₹999 is waived if your annual spends exceed ₹2 Lakhs in the previous year.
Cardholders also receive a welcome benefit of ₹1,000 cashback on spending ₹20,000 within the first 30 days of card issuance, plus a ₹250 Amazon voucher.
For contactless payments, a new quarterly fuel cashback program is also being launched to offset fuel surcharge costs.
